Congress attendees will be introduced to the Circle of Courage which highlight the principles of Belonging, Mastery, Independence and Generosity and how one's culture/life experiences either enhance or prevent these needs from being fulfilled.
"The Globe as the Circle of Courage" is the working title of Dr. Martin Brokenleg's presentation.
Among all the diversity of cultures and peoples in our world, we value our kids and are concerned for their future. The Circle of Courage is a resilience philosophy that is based on the wisdom of Native North American peoples. It is the common ground where all adults can create strength in all youth, regardless of where the youth live, what religion they practice, what language they speak, or what race they are. Explained in the book, Reclaiming Youth at Risk: Our Hope for the Future, The Circle of Courage philosophy will refocus and reenergize your work with youth.
