AIEJI World Congress 2013
After a happy and successful world congress in Copenhagen, Denmark in May this year, the time has come to find new potential candidates for the hosting of the next AIEJI congress and its members and social educators/pedagogues around the world.
The congress is held every fourth year and on this website you can find information about where it has previously been held and what the themes of each congress has been.
The AIEJI world congress consists of a range of professional presentations and discussion papers related to the field of social education/pedagogy. In most cases there have also been a string of workshop sessions held by practitioners of social education/pedagogy from all over the world. Additionally, the option of visiting social educationally/pedagogically workplaces in the host area has traditionally been part of the congress program.
Apart from the professional social educational/pedagogical events the ordinary general assembly of AIEJI is also held during the course of the congress, cf. the rules of ordinance.
For inspiration and as an example, the program of the latest world congress in Copenhagen, and the way it was put together, can be viewed at www.aieji2009.dk.
The hosts of the congress can be AIEJI members or AIEJI members in cooperation with institutions and/or authorities in the given country, or it can be external partners. What is important is that the board of AIEJI will take part in the preparations and collaboration regarding the content and execution of the congress.
It is the board of AIEJI that will decide who will host the congress and where it will be held as well as approving the general framework and overall theme of the congress.
I will therefore ask potential candidates of interest to please send forth your proposals and ideas to me. The proposal must contain a consideration of the theme of the congress, the location and venue, the organization of the congress, whom will be the overall practical responsible, how many estimated participants etc.
The first deadline of application of hosting the congress is October 15 and must be sent to President of AIEJI, Benny Andersen, via email: ba@sl.dk . The board of AIEJI will then discuss the applications at a board meeting by the end of October.
